minoo App
The minoo app (hereinafter referred to as “minoo” or “app”) is used in combination with the minoo Test Kid and the minoo Test Station for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus that causes COVID-19. THIS APP DOES NOT PROCESS SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA (HEALTH DATA).
The following privacy policy is intended to give you an overview of what happens to your data when you use the App. If you have any questions or concerns about the use of your personal data by us, please contact us. Contact information is provided at the bottom of this data privacy notice.

2. Data Subjects
Users of the app and therefor data subjects are health professionals who install the app on their smartphone. Regarding the registration and use of app stores (Google Play Store, Apple Store), we refer to the privacy policy of the respective store providers. App stores do not forward any data to us.
3. Data Processing
WE DO NOT PROCESS SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA (HEALTH DATA).
To use our app, it is not necessary to register or submit personal data like your name or emailaddress to us.
a. Personal data
When using the app, we will solely record certain information from your smartphone:
We use the IP address to determine your approximate general geographic location (e.g. state or city), also your GPS Location so that we can see where the Test was made.
b. Interaction and technical Data of the device used
Furthermore, we collect information about how you and minoo Test system device interact with the app, including sections accessed and links clicked on. This data informs us about the device you use to access our services, such as the model, name and identifiers, device settings, application identifier, and crash information of minoo Test system. This information helps us to fix bugs and to improve our services.
4. Bluetooth and Camera
The Bluetooth functionality (android.permission.BLUETOOTH and BLUETOOTH_ADMIN) is needed in
order to connect the app with the minoo Test Station.
The app accesses your Camera with which you can scan and read the QR-Code on the minoo Test kit and start a new Test on the minoo Test station afterwards. Videos or data will not be stored anywhere except the QR-Data captured by the app.
5. Purpose of Data Processing
If you want to perform a test using the minoo Test kit via the app, you conclude a user agreement with us according to our terms and conditions of use. The purpose of data processing is the fulfillment of this agreement. Furthermore, we use the app to communicate with you via in-app-messaging. Furthermore to fix bugs and to improve our services.
6. Legal Basis
The Legal Basis for the processing of your personal data (see par 3 A) is Art 6 para 1 lit. a GDPR (consent).
Especially we request your consent based in Art 6 para 1 lit. a GDPR to contact you via “in-app notifications” on the following topics:
- Invitation to participate in surveys regarding your feedback on ease of use and the app’s
performance. - Information about modifications and/or updates to the app that are available and whose use is recommended, and information about the consequences of not consenting to the installation and use of updates and/or modifications to our app.
- Information about changes to the app’s terms and conditions of use and information about the
consequences of not accepting these.
The Legal Basis for the processing of your personal interaction data (see par 3 B) is Art 6 para 1 lit. b GDPR (fulfillment of contract) and Art 6 para 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest of the controller).
It is not possible to use the app without submitting your consent to process personal Data.
7. Transmission of personal Data
For the above-mentioned purposes, departments or employees within our organization will receive your data, to fulfill contractual obligations and our legitimate interests. In addition, we may also submit your data to carefully selected, commissioned processors (in particular IT and back-office service providers used by us), insofar as they require the data to fulfill their respective contractual obligations. We have concluded corresponding Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with all processors and regularly monitor their compliance with data protection.
8. Deletion and storage of your Data
Users do not need to create or require user accounts to use our app. We delete the data mentioned above as soon as the purpose of its storage no longer applies or at your request at any time unless there are legal retention periods to the contrary.
Beyond this point, we store personal data only insofar as its processing is necessary: To fulfil a legal obligation to which we are subject requiring processing according to EU or national law; or to substantiate, exercise or defend legal claims.

Where your personal data is processed on the basis of consent in accordance with Art.6 (1) p.1 lit. a GDPR, you have the right in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR to object to the processing of your personal data.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We keep the right to adjust our privacy policy from time to time. All changes to the privacy policy will be published by us in the APP. Please refer to the current version of our privacy policy in this regard.
11. Prevailing Language
We use professional translators and proofreaders to translate all of our communications, including this Privacy Policy, as accurately as possible into German and English languages. The most up-to-date version of this Privacy Policy is always available in German on our product website.
