How does minoo work?
Molecular SARS-CoV-2 test for healthcare professionals
minoo is a molecular SARS-CoV-2 test and provides a result in just 18 minutes!
Our molecular NAT test using RPA (Recombinase Polymerase Amplification) makes this possible, delivering very fast and accurate results. The innovative combination of on-site equipment and cloud-based analysis opens up previously unimaginable possibilities and offers a great deal of laboratory capability in a very small space.

SARS-CoV-2 test procedure
Fast and accurate results in 5 simple steps
minoo analyses samples at the molecular level, whereas the SARS-CoV-2 test occurs in two steps: the on-site instrument analyses the processed sample from the throat swab, while the cloud back-end in the digital background evaluates the data and provides a diagnosis in real time. The whole testing process is quickly and conveniently carried out in five simple steps.

User-friendly app with intuitive controls
Molecular SARS-CoV-2 test – step by step
The minoo test is a standardized process. This ensures a high level of accuracy with a minimized error rate.
The minoo app for smartphones (Android) plays a key role in this by guiding the user through the entire test process with the aid of a graphical user interface—clearly, concisely and step by step. This makes the whole SARS-CoV-2 test particularly convenient and ensures quality even in the most stressful of situations.
Requirements of the minoo app
Hardware requirements
Android® 8+ with Bluetooth LE (BLE), NFC and wireless internet connection to download the minoo app. BLE and NFC must be active and the smartphone must be connected to the internet throughout the test.
Test station & test kit
minoo contains all the important components
The minoo test station and the minoo test kits contain the most important components to ensure that medical personnel, such as medical officers, can carry out the molecular SARS-CoV-2 test on-site by collecting a throat swab.
Test station

Test station with USB cable, protective cap and operating instructions

Test kit

Positive control test container
Tubes with synthetic viral RNA to assess fundamental functionality of the test system.
Sample station
A stand, in which all test components can be positioned in an upright position.
Swabs in tubes
Swabs for swabbing the back of the throat.
Buffer storage tank
Tubes with lysis buffer to release the viral RNA from the sample.
Test container
Tubes with lyophilised biochemical reagents for Recombinase-Polymerase Amplification including DNA oligonucleotides (OligoMix).
Pipette tips
Disposable tips used to aspirate and dispense liquids using a pipette.
Operating instructions
A document with instructions on how to use the minoo test kit.
